We are Hank and Krista Scott, missionaries with Wycliffe Bible Translators, and we serve at the JAARS center in North Carolina.

Hank leads a team that provides technology solutions which benefit people all over the world who are involved with Bible translation and literacy work.  Krista manages the housing department at the JAARS center.

  • Africa Internet Improvement Project Goes Live! Information About Wycliffe

The efforts of Wycliffe Bible Translators serve languages spoken in over 100 countries around the world.  Wycliffe is involved today in about 80% of all 2,200 active language projects globally, providing Bible translation and literacy for minority language groups.

Did you know there are over 6,900 distinct languages in the world?  In addition to what has already been translated, and the projects currently under way, there are still more than 1,800 languages that don't have any of the Bible.  That's 180 million people that don't have a Bible in their own language.  Find more statistics here.

Information about JAARS

JAARS is the international technical support arm of Wycliffe, where Hank and Krista currently serve.  The focus of JAARS is to provide the logistical and technical capacity to Wycliffe missionaries and others involved in Bible translation in order to help further the work.

Hank's role is specifically to lead the Development team that develops new solutions and provides technical consulting for missionaries around the world. Krista leads the Housing department, managing nearly 100 housing units on the campus for missionaries, volunteers and visitors.

Other departments at JAARS which provide professional services include Aviation, Construction and Maintenance, Land Transportation, Maritime Services, Purchasing and Shipping, and Vernacular Media Services.
